Emperiks is a mission-driven unified team of leading scientists, researchers and professionals operating at the top of our fields. We focus on knowledge brokering and identification of opportunities for impact. We provide evidence to help solve societal problems, especially for left-behind populations and enterprises. We are one of the leading centres for social, economic and environmental research and evidence-based policy advice in Sub-Saharan Africa. Emperiks is a provider of quality monitoring and evaluation services, policy directions, technical assistance and data solutions to international firms, local organizations, think tanks, governments, and NGOs in Africa. Its experts have experience with a wide array of M&E systems, data collection and management systems and collaborative methods to help improve global development activities. It adopts a consortium approach to most of its assignments because it adopts a multiple-resource, transdisciplinary and multi-sectoral approach to problem-solving.

Agnes Apusigah Atiah
Agnes Apusigah Atiah is a Professor of Development Sociology and Vice President of the Regentropfen College of Applied Sciences, Kansoe-Bongo, near Bolgatanga in Ghana. She holds a PhD in Cultural Studies with Curriculum Studies from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario, Canada. With over 25 years of experience, she is a scholar-activist, a member of the women's movement of Ghana, and active in civil society governance. She has contributed extensively to research and development particularly for women and youth in the areas of the political economy of African development, indigenous knowledge systems, gender studies, value chains and market systems, and educational policy and reforms. She has mentored several young African women into governance, academic and development programming roles.
Frederick Dayour
Frederick Dayour (PhD) is a social scientist. He has worked as a researcher and development consultant over the past decade to improve systems and drive impacts for individuals, businesses, and communities. His influences have transcended several sectors, including Tourism, Agriculture, ICTs, Environment, and Health in West Africa and the United Kingdom. Frederick has consulted on projects funded or implemented by the Mennonites Economic Development Associates (MEDA), Master Card Foundation, USAID, GIZ, JICA, and European Union. He has published numerous academic publications in leading business, social science, and environment journals and is a regular presenter at international conferences. Frederick’s research has been featured in prominent media outlets such as Conversation. He is a Senior Lecturer at the Department Hospitality and Tourism Management, School of Business, SDD-UBIDS, Ghana. Frederick obtained his BSc. and MPhil degrees in Tourism Management at the University of Cape Coast and Ph.D. in Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Surrey, UK. He is a Senior Research Associate at the School of Tourism and Hospitality, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He is also an adjunct researcher at the Kazuhiko Takeuchi Centre of Sustainability and Resilience (KTCSR), University for Development Studies.
Iddrisu Amadu
Iddrisu Amadu is an environmental professional with research and academic experience in the natural and social aspects of the environment and human health. He is interdisciplinary and applies qualitative and quantitative techniques in understanding human-environment interactions from complex Social-Ecological Systems (SES) perspectives, environmental pollution and global environmental change. His current research interest is on sustainability and social-ecological concepts, including vulnerability, adaptation, and resilience. He is a recipient of the World Bank’s Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) Scholarship and the 2021 Ocean Leadership Microgrants by the Sustainable Ocean Alliance. Iddrisu currently serves as the Leader of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance, University of Cape Coast (SOA UCC) Hub. He aims to contribute immensely to knowledge and capacity building that directly addresses societal needs at various scales (local, national and international). He holds an MPhil in Integrated Coastal Zone Management and a BSc. Environmental Science both from the University of Cape Coast.
Charles Atanga Adongo
Charles Atanga Adongo (PhD) comes to Emperiks pledging to help empower people, build and transform communities, and deep technical experience through evidence generation. He is an interdisciplinary social scientist with over 10 years of academic, research, and headquarter experience. Charles’s research findings are transforming the theory and practice of consumption experiences, poverty, food security, value chains, market systems, and private sector development, both home and abroad.
He has worked across several countries providing technical assistance, implementing a variety of evaluation methods, and supporting advisory and analytical works. He has managed numerous large-scale multi-country assignments funded by governments and donor organizations, including USAID, USAID ASSESS West Africa, GIZ, Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Catalytic Capital Consortuim (C3), and Solidaridad West Africa, across Sub-Saharan Africa.
